Your questionnaire answers

The questionnaire is for adult shoppers. We ask for an age, interests, and shopping preferences. A nickname or generic catalog title is optional. Please leave out full names, birth dates, contact information, locations, schools, and medical details.

Your answers, generated guide, saved ideas, and purchased markers remain in temporary browser memory. Local matching does not transmit answers to our server or an AI provider. Optional AI matching requires the consent checkbox. Resetting, refreshing, closing, or leaving the page clears this temporary state.

Optional AI matching

If you choose AI matching, your browser sends age, selected interest categories, play-style selections, adventure preference, budget, idea count, stores, exclusions, and removed gift IDs to our server. The server filters the curated catalog and sends OpenAI an age range and structured shopping preferences, together with eligible gift concepts. Nicknames and all free-text fields (favorites, wish list, and notes) remain in the browser and are never included in AI requests. Free-text considerations remain manual shopping reminders.

Our application processes requests temporarily without saving questionnaire answers, response content, or visitor profiles. We use the OpenAI Responses API with store set to false. OpenAI does not use API data to train models by default; standard abuse-monitoring logs may retain request content for up to 30 days, and provider caching and exceptions may apply. We do not promise zero retention by OpenAI. See OpenAI’s data controls.

Leave AI unchecked for local matching. Turning off AI cancels a pending request where possible and prevents further AI requests for that guide. It cannot retract data already processed by OpenAI. Verify AI explanations and product details before shopping.

Cookies and tracking

The application does not set cookies or use persistent browser storage. It includes no analytics SDKs, advertising pixels, session recordings, behavioral profiling, remote fonts, or external product images.

Hosting and technical requests

Hostinger serves the website and may process technical request information such as IP addresses in its infrastructure. The WishPicked application does not log request bodies, questionnaire answers, personalized catalog contents, or visitor profiles. Hosting-provider processing and metadata retention are separate from our application’s no-profile policy; we do not claim that no technical data is processed anywhere.

Affiliate links and recommendations

Some products on WishPicked use affiliate links. We may earn a commission when you make a qualifying purchase through these links, at no extra cost to you. Commissions do not affect which products we recommend or how recommendations are ranked. Amazon affiliate links are labeled as paid links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Retailer links

When you click a store link, you leave WishPicked. The retailer receives the gift search term, which may include a general favorite term you entered. The retailer’s privacy practices apply. Gift-concept links open retailer searches. The Amazon gift-picks collection contains specific affiliate product links. Amazon may use tracking parameters and cookies after a click to attribute qualifying purchases; its privacy practices apply. We do not receive your Amazon order details or keep individual purchase profiles.

Downloads and printing

Downloads and printed guides are saved by you. They may include your optional nickname and shopping preferences. We keep no copy. You decide where those files are stored and whom to share them with.

Contact by email

If you email us at a published contact address, the message necessarily passes through email providers and may remain in that mailbox. Do not send children’s identifying details or questionnaire profiles. Email correspondence is separate from the anonymous gift-discovery experience.

Future integrations

Optional AI matching is supported when configured. Live retailer APIs and paid sponsorships are not enabled. Amazon affiliate product links are included and disclosed. We will update this explanation before introducing processing that changes how the experience works.
